The year 2008 was the year TNA(Total Nonstop Action wrestling) ran 8 of their 12 monthly pay-per-view events on the road. This was a sign that TNA was looking to branch out from their base of operations, The Impact Zone at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida, and reach out to more wrestling fans who haven't heard of TNA before. Unfortunately for TNA, and for those of us who wanted TNA to do more PPVs and even do Impacts on the road, the attendance numbers for these 8 PPVs weren't that good. So much so that in 2009 they only ran 4 PPVs out of Orlando, and by 2010 they only did 2 PPVs outside of the Impact Zone. Obviously whatever TNA was doing didn't work.
That brings me to my idea on how TNA could possibly start taking all their PPVs on the road and even start doing Live Impacts on the road. My idea is a simple one. When TNA announces ticket sales for the PPV they need to add a little incentive for fans who might waiver on whether or not to buy tickets to the event. The incentive is if you buy the ticket not only do you get to see the 3-hour extravaganza in it's entirety but if you bring the ticket back the next night you get to see the Live Impact on Spike TV for free. That's right 2 shows for the price of one. And to ensure that people don't wait to see if you give the tickets away for free, TNA needs to convey(w/o saying it in words)that they won't be giving away PPV tickets for free anymore. Hopefully by doing that you get fans to order right away and for anyone who thought you were kidding, about not giving tickets away, will learn a lesson by missing out and having to hearing from their friends about the awesome event they missed.
Another bonus to my idea is that at least once a month TNA fans will get to see Impact go head to head with Monday Night Raw, which will allow TNA to measure where they stand in that arena. IMO, running a Live Impact the night after a PPV is a brilliant idea due to the fact that most post PPV shows get some sort of bounce in the ratings due to peaked interest about the PPV. Because of this peaked interest I can't see Impact's rating being hurt too badly by Raw. And like I said it's only once a month and it would give TNA an opportunity to test the proverbial waters.
Anyway that's just one fans opinion. I'd love to get some feedback on this idea.
Until Next Time,
